And of course I spend a lot of time obsessively refreshing my amazon screen too.
Came back from a very nice dinner with Ned last night (Northbank, highly recommended), to find myself on some of the Amazon best-seller lists. Not sure how they work, I’m number 1 in one of the ‘Historical’ genre lists, but that doesn’t have Wolf Hall on it, so…
Anyway, there was a very nice review in the Guardian for IoD yesterday, and that seems to have sent IoD up the rankings. I’m sure I’ll head back down soon enough, but seeing myself on a list with CJ Samson and Lee Childs is a moment I’ll treasure. There was a victory dance.
If any book of mine ever makes in into the top 100 on Amazon, it’s going to be a full victory ballet. Which might be dangerous given one of my attempts at dancing in the living room lead to a broken bowl, a late night visit to A&E and six stiches. The scar is pretty impressive. Ned now starts looking a bit nervous whenever I start tapping my feet and clears breakables out of the living-room.
