This is cool.
Was just doing a little idle ego-surfing, I know it’s a bit rubbish, but I can’t help it, and I found this. Apparently it’s coming out in Poland next week, if my google translating is to be relied upon. Looks great, obviously they agreed that the paperback cover here looks good. I suppose this also is an illustration of how once the book is out there, it has its own life. Headline and I had a chat about the title a while ago, the direct translation of the Polish is Instruments of Hell, apparently, because it sounds better and is how they traditionally translate the original Shakespearean phrase. Wonder what the Russians will do with it?
I met my American publisher a week or two ago. It’s very much like a blind date, only somehow you’re already committed to going out with the person. Still, as with Headline, I’m confident it’s going to be a happy relationship. I was telling Pam how much I like Stephen King’s On Writing. She worked with him for many years. It was a bit like hearing someone say, ‘oh God, yes, I used to work with God. Lovely man.’ Gulp.
