Beautiful flowers from Headline, HUGE bottle of wine from my agent, parents down and lots of friends and family gathering around Goldsboro Books in Cecil Court W1. Must mean it’s launch day.
Among the gathering I was particularly pleased and touched to see Louise Doughty. This is all her fault really, she was one of the judges of the First Thousand Words of a Novel Competition in the Telegraph in 2007, which came from her column ‘Novel in a Year’. It was being one of the winners of that competition that made me take the plunge and abandon looking for TV work to write Instruments. Her new novel is coming out soon, looking forward to that lots.
Ooh and Amy brought bubble mixture. Inspired.
